Client Edition Features
Club Edition Features (Under development)
To run this Web Application on an iPad or iPhone you must use the Browser Version by going to www.mgolfscore.com or use the Browser Standalone version, which does not need the Internet.
If you use the Browser Version, once the Webpage has downloaded it no longer uses the Internet until you click on Start Again. It effectively runs offline. There is also a Standalone Browser version available, which allows you to run the Webpage from a Folder on your iPad or iPhone. The Folder will be named MobileGolfScorecard and will be the result of unzipping a zip file that contains the Webpage MobileGolfScorecard.html . You would go to that Folder and Double Click on that file.
After completing a Round of 18 Holes, you can print your score card out as a pdf file. As your completed cards are captured and you have 4 or more completed Rounds, your Handicap is dynamically updated. This Handicap is calculated using the Slope(SR) and Course Rating(CR) that has been recorded on the Course Card. The formula used for the Differential is:- Differential = ((RoundScore - CR) * 113) / SR . The formula for the final Handicap is:- (Best 8 Differential Scores / 8) * 0.93 . The Handicap calculation starts from the 4th Round, hence 8 is replaced by 4,5,6,7 until 8 or more rounds have been recorded.
Once a round has been completed, the Completed Scorecard can be Published so that others can view it. The Card will be given a unique ID and maybe associated to a Club ID if the member Marking the Scores is a member of a Club whose is running the Club Edition of mgolfscore.com .
If the Android app, Web app or device fail at anytime, there is now a recovery option available, which will allow you con recover your current card up to the last hole entry that was entered successfully.
Scoring Methods:
It supports Stroke, Stableford, and Ambrose.
Concept:
The concept is that you have a Pool of Players from which you make up your Team to play that day. Each Player has their associated Handicap, which is dynamically updated after they have completed 4 Rounds using the Android app or the Web app.
Near the Top of the Screen is a summary of how the Round is going. The Hcap Ap. figure showing, is the Handicap used so far. The Net figure is the above or below Par value up to that point of the Round. Hence at the end of the Round it should show your Score after applying your Full Handicap for that Round.
That all players will have access to their own scorecard once a round has been completed.
Instructions:
You need to create your Pool of Players and at least one Course Card before you can appoint a Team to play a Round of Golf.
Add players to your Pool. You need at least two players. To Delete a player from your Pool, just click on that players name. Once you have assembled your Pool, make sure you Save it. You can then Reload that Saved list at anytime.
You can also Clear the Pool, which just Clears the Screen. It does not Clear your Saved List. You can create a new Pool at anytime and use it. You don't have to Save it to use it. It could be a Temporary List just to use for that occassion.
Now build your Course Card using the Build Course Card option. You will need to give the Course Card a name, and know the Par and Stroke Index (Hcap) number for each hole, plus the Slope and Course Ratings (SR) & (CR). The Club ID and Member ID fields are optional. If your Golf Club uses the CLUB EDITION then you can fill those fields out. When completed click on the Save button. This will save the Course Course Specs within the Browser and send a copy of all your Course Cards to your Downloads folder. If need be you can Update a Card at any time by doing a Course Card Inquiry, making the required change, then clicking on the Update button.
Once you have your Pool of Players set up, and a Course Card built, you can then Appoint, make up the Team to play that day. Just Click on the Checkbox for each player in your Pool that you wish to Appoint to the Team that day. If you make a mistake then Click on that Checkbox again for that Player in the Team, and they will be put back in the Pool, and the Team List will shuffle up. The next appointed player will appear at the bottom of the list. After you select your first Team member, you will be prompted to select your scoring method, Stroke, Stableford, or Ambrose. You will also be prompted to select a Course Card for that round. Then continue selecting your Team members.
After you have Apointed the Players, you may wish to enter a starting hole other than 1, before you Click on Start Game .
Note:
If using the Android app and the app has to be reinstalled rather than updated, you can recover the app by Importing the two important files that it uses. (playerpoolbkup.txt , and coursesbkup.txt files). These can be found in your Downloads Folder. The same goes for the Browser version if your Browser cache is cleared.
Score Corrections:
You can correct a Score combination at any time during the Round. Just click on the Score, you are updating, then click on Enter Button or the Enter/Go Key on the keyboard. You will get a Prompt to confirm you want to make the change to that Hole.
